"Daddy there's something outside"

This is another class assignment. I had to draw a picture of a situation that was both inside and outside at the same time. Coming up with a concept was difficult but I looked at what inspired me and the project bloomed from there. I've always loved animals, even made up ones, and I'm sure somewhere there was or is a little girl who would love to meet a dragon outside her window.
18'X24" inches
Acrylics on illustration board.

The Swing

For my class I decided to Draw my version of The Swing byt Jean-Honore Fragonard . It's a very famous Rococo piece of artwork. I re worked it to be comical with me kicking off a man's head, and having my boyfriend cower in the corner. This is 16 x 20 Acrylics.

A few Werewolves

I really love wolves, and I really love horror movies, so werewolves are one of my favorite things to draw. I should really draw more but I never seem to find the time to do so. Here's 2 of my past pieces.

My Work Process

For my Pictorial Illustration class we were assigned a project on different Phobias. I Choose Ailurophobia, or the fear of cats.

The first thing that I do when I get an assignment is to start off with tumbnailing. These are tiny little doodle of my thoughts that I just want to get down on paper.

After the first small thumbnails I'll make a large one on the page to just get a sense of scale.

Then there is the detailed sketch. This is where I decided in great detail what the image will look like and shade the image to give me a sense of the shadows.
Then comes the final picture, fully colored in Water colors.

The orignal is 20" X 2o' on Archers cold pressed watercolor paper.Above is a work in Progress Image at my workstation.

Above is another shot of the picture in progress, as you can see I sort of got green on the Puma.
